The only incorporated city in the county

Cumming is the county seat and the only incorporated city in Forsyth County, which makes it the centre of gravity for everything that follows an arrest. The jail is here. The courthouse is here. Magistrate Court is here. And so are we.

Arrests in the city limits are usually made by the Cumming Police Department; outside them, by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Either way, booking happens at 202 Veterans Memorial Boulevard and the paperwork route is the same.

Where we see it happen

Cumming has grown from a small county seat into a corridor city, and the arrest pattern follows the traffic.

  • GA-400 exits 13 to 18 — DUI and drug possession stops, particularly late on Friday and Saturday.
  • Market Place Boulevard and Peachtree Parkway — retail theft and shoplifting from the shopping centres.
  • Cumming City Center and the Fairgrounds — disorderly conduct and public intoxication after events.
  • Buford Highway, Canton Highway and Atlanta Road — traffic offences, suspended licence and no-insurance stops that turn into arrests.

Come to the office or sign from where you are

A co-signer can sign in person at 110 Samaritan Drive, Suite 112, or remotely by email if you are at work, out of state, or sitting in the jail car park with a phone and no printer. Remote signing is normal now and it does not slow anything down.

What we need is the same either way: full legal name and date of birth of the person in custody, the charge, the bond amount if it is set, and a co-signer with valid photo ID.

Do not drive to the jail and wait. There is nothing you can do at the counter that a phone call cannot start faster, and the waiting room is a hard place to spend three hours.

Common questions

Questions we get asked about this

Where is your Cumming office?

110 Samaritan Drive, Suite 112, Cumming, GA 30040 — minutes from the Forsyth County Jail and the courthouse. Call (770) 888-4585 before you drive over so we can have paperwork ready.

Can I bond someone out in Cumming at 3 a.m.?

Yes. The jail books and releases around the clock and so do we. The limiting factor is normally whether a judge has set a bond yet.

Do Cumming Police arrests go to a city jail?

No. Cumming has no separate city jail — arrests by Cumming PD are booked into the Forsyth County Jail on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, same as Sheriff’s Office arrests.

Do I have to come to the office to sign?

No. A co-signer can complete the paperwork remotely by email. In person is welcome if you prefer it, but it is not required.
